Hoy, para arrancar con las efemérides diarias del Cajón del musicópata, The Coasters.

Carl GadnerTal día como hoy en 2011 nos abandonaba Carl Gardner, fundador y voz solista del grupo de R&B The Coasters, por un fallo cardíaco a los 83 años de edad.

En su memoria recordemos el primer éxito, «Down in Mexico», 1956.

Como curiosidad, comentaros que The Coasters, gracias a la insistencia de nuestro protagonista, se mantuvieron en activo durante 50 años, de los cuales, acogieron a un jovencísimo Jimi Hendrix durante un pequeño tiempo.
